GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps. Draw a square which will act as the frame of the crab portrait.
STEP 1. Outline the general shape of the carapace and claws of the crab. Sketch eyes.
STEP 2. Detail the claws and the eyes. Add two legs.
STEP 3. Draw eye pupils, mouth and additional two legs. Add lines inside the claws.
STEP 4. Refine the shape of claws by adding another line.
Add the last two legs. Detail the mouth.
STEP 5. Work on the whole figure, adding more details to the eyes, the legs and the carapace.
STEP 6. Color the eyes and the mouth. Erase all guidelines.
